<image:title>Blog - Winter in the Saddle - #1. First off, everything is green! Here in Central California, we take our rain very seriously and are grateful for every inch we receive as it eliminates dust and transforms the dry landscapes into a vibrant green picturesque visuals. Nothing beats riding through Santa Margarita Ranch’s rolling hills when the grass is in full bloom. For a short window, SMR looks straight out of a postcard and now is the time to experience it. #2. With growing grass and new life brought to the ranch, winter is also a great time to view wildlife. It’s very common to see the ranch’s cows grazing with their newly born calves as you ride. You may also be able to spot wild hogs, coyotes, bobcats, even black bears, and a variety of birds, including eagles, that come out after the rains, and call the ranch home. Seeing these animals on horseback offers a respectful and quiet way to observe them in their natural habitat.</image:title>

<image:title>Trail Rides - For All Trail Rides:</image:title>
<image:caption>Dress code: Long pants & closed toed shoes Helmets are provided and required for minors and encouraged but optional for adults (must be an equestrian certified helmet if you choose to bring your own) Loose ‘fashion’ or sun hats will quickly blow off in the breeze and can be a hazard to the horses and other riders and are not advised to be worn during the ride. Saddle pouches for phone, keys, camera, etc. are provided to each rider, but please avoid backpacks and purses as we don’t want to distract you or the horses on the ride! We provide a restroom, a cold bottle of water in your saddle pouch for you on your ride, and have sunscreen and hand sanitizer available to you before your ride departs. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your ride time to ensure the full ride time. If you arrive late, your ride is not guaranteed. We do have a flexible age, ability, and weight limit, but please inquire about specific needs when booking. The more information we have beforehand, the easier it will be to find you the perfect horse! There is a mounting block provided to assist you in getting on your horse. IMPORTANT! For the safety of the rider and the horse each guest will be riding, CCT will need each individual rider’s height, weight and experience at time of booking so we can best pair you up. Any rider swaps will need to be approved before your ride and communicated and approved by our booking staff to ensure we have the correct horse needed for that specific rider/ride. All weights MUST be as accurate as possible. If we feel like a rider’s weight has been misrepresented, we may refuse to facilitate that ride for safety reasons. We get that this is an uncomfortable topic for many people, but it is necessary for us to provide a great experience. Thank you for your understanding. Please see additional FAQ’s here before booking!</image:caption>

<image:title>About - Central Coast Trailrides began in 2015—a family-first business inspired by owners Crystal and Brian Hallett’s love for horses.</image:title>
<image:caption>Both raised in the area, our roots run deep in the Paso Robles community, so the importance of strong connections and involvements within the region and with other local businesses is an essential asset of our growing operation. As winery and ranch partnerships continue to build, the heart behind the business remains: the Hallett crew is the backbone and primary labor force of the business. Our horses are very carefully selected and cared for, and then brought to you—tacked up and ready to ride. Alongside Crystal and Brian, our two hard working children, Mattix and Taylen, are involved in the business every day. Our daughter, Taylen, has also begun stepping into a wrangler role… don’t be surprised to have her join you on a ride! We are the premier company specializing in customized rides at some of the most beautiful and recognizable vineyards and wineries in the world. We also facilitate rides for private ranch owners and current guests at various vacation rental properties throughout the Central Coast. All of our rides can be independently coordinated from large corporate retreats to private rides. At select locations, pace may be increased depending on riders abilities and wranglers discretion. Each of the rides are safe yet relaxed, refraining from the nose to tail operation of many other companies. We provide plenty of photo opportunities so guests can relive the experience and share on social media sites. Guests of all riding abilities are welcome, including young children, older adults and heavier riders. If you are an experienced equestrian, we will make sure to pair you up with the appropriate horse, ride location, and group, so we can provide you an exciting and memorable experience. We have so much gratitude for each person who chooses to book with us, and for the continued support from our guests. Come see the beauty of the Central Coast in an unforgettable way—on horseback! -Crystal & Brian Hallett</image:caption>
