For All Trail Rides:
Dress code: Long pants & closed toed shoes
Helmets are provided and required for minors and encouraged but optional for adults
(must be an equestrian certified helmet if you choose to bring your own)Loose ‘fashion’ or sun hats will quickly blow off in the breeze and can be a hazard to the horses and other riders and are not advised to be worn during the ride.
Saddle pouches for phone, keys, camera, etc. are provided to each rider, but please avoid backpacks and purses as we don’t want to distract you or the horses on the ride!
We provide a restroom, a cold bottle of water in your saddle pouch for you on your ride, and have sunscreen and hand sanitizer available to you before your ride departs.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your ride time to ensure the full ride time. If you arrive late, your ride is not guaranteed.
We do have a flexible age, ability, and weight limit, but please inquire about specific needs when booking. The more information we have beforehand, the easier it will be to find you the perfect horse!

Santa Margarita Ranch Horseback Rides in Paso Robles Wine Country

Off the beaten path, our rides at Santa Margarita Ranch, our primary location, are a great way to get out of the hustle and bustle and dive into the beauty of nature on a working cattle ranch. Ride the ranch with us for beautiful views, wildlife viewing opportunities, seasonal lush creek settings, and mild terrain! Great for all our guests, spend some time with our horses & wranglers out in nature! The one hour ride is perfect for all levels of riders and is a great first experience with us.

1.5 Hour 'SMR Tree Canopy & Vineyard View Ride'
$160 / per person
For a more diverse trail system and dynamic taste of all aspects of the ranch, ride with us on our most popular offering! Including the grand oak trees, lush greenery, wide open spaces, seasonal creek crossings, and vast quarry vineyard views, our tree canopy ride is one not to miss that is still suitable for all levels of riders!

1.75 Hour 'SMR Twilight Vineyard & Ridgeline Ride'
$200 / per person
Our beautiful ridgeline ride is exclusively offered in prime-time ‘golden hour’ during our warmer months here on the Central Coast. With a 2 rider booking minimum, ride through the stunning quarry vineyard, then take in the panoramic ridgeline views of the Santa Margarita Ranch property! This ride travels through wine grapes and picturesque hills overlooking the countryside. Spend the evening with us, and enjoy an adventurous ride full of possible wildlife sightings, guaranteed great views, and varied terrain. Ride time determined by date, exact details available when booking.

Ride & Sip with CCT + Ancient Peaks!
Add some wonderful sips to your time in the saddle! With any booked ride with us, for an additional $10/ per person, enjoy a tasting of five wines at Ancient Peaks, our partner winery a few minutes down the road in town, owned and operated by Santa Margarita Ranch, the property we ride on!
*Ride & Sip must be booked in advance (with your ride booking) to ensure reservation availibility at the winery.
